Resumen

La prevalencia de los trastornos mentales comunes, incluyendo la depresión, el trastorno de estrés postraumático, el trastorno obsesivo-compulsivo y una variedad de trastornos de ansiedad, es una de las principales causas de enfermedad en todo el mundo, tanto en países ricos como en los más pobres. El objetivo fue identificar las evidencias de validez de la Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale probada en puérperas. Investigación bibliográfica del tipo revisión integradora, que utilizó la estrategia PICO para construir la pregunta: ¿Cuáles son las evidencias de validez disponibles del instrumento Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale en puérperas? Las bases de datos consultadas fueron: PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, Scielo Org. y SCOPUS. La selección utilizó Rayyan, siguiendo el diagrama de flujo PRISMA 2020. Las búsquedas se realizaron de octubre a noviembre de 2022. Con base en los criterios de inclusión, se seleccionaron 17 estudios para la síntesis analítica. La Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale es ampliamente reconocida como el estándar de oro para la detección de la depresión posparto en mujeres en todo el mundo. Este instrumento permite identificar el riesgo de depresión a través de diferentes puntuaciones. Comprender cómo funciona la Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale y cuáles son sus límite es esencial para utilizarla de manera efectiva en diferentes contextos, garantizando un cribado preciso y la identificación temprana de casos que necesitan seguimiento especializado.
