The present article comes from the practical experience of three phonoaudiologists who work in deaf patients’ rehabilitation.
The way to reflect on this question consists of the description of the degrees of auditory losses and the relevant aspects in auditory
deficiency diagnosis, taking into account the family emotional difficulties that intervene with the rehabilitation, the therapeutic approach
used with these patients, schooling and legal aspects. It is crucial to consider these factors in deaf people’s rehabilitation process, aiming
at a better quality of life for these subjects, broadening their possibilities and the effectiveness of their real social inclusion.
