Pain. Suffering. Human care.Abstract
The text presents an understanding of pain and suffering stemming from a personal experience compared to ideas of authors
who mention these subjects. It discusses the importance of the personal appropriation of the situation for confronting vulnerability
and construct personal identity. It points out that the capacity to give sense to an experience, anchored by interpersonal relation, fortifies
and helps deal with the problem. It shows that technoscience have almost all conditions necessary to fight organic-physiological
pain. But suffering is really more complex and subjective reality that is outside science reach but is nevertheless at the reach of human
support and care.
