Abstract

ABSTRACT: The integration of medicine and religion has been the reason for many studies carried through in several parts of the world.
In this work, the author makes a revision of the most important papers on the subject and presents accounts of her personal experience
as cardiologist treating patient in their wholeness. Commenting on positive and negative aspects of the association between medical
treatment and prayer, the importance of faith in the evolution of illnesses stands out.
