Behçet syndrome (BS) is a multi-systemic inflammatory affection of vascular incidence and unknown cause, characterized by recurrent mouth
and genital ulcers, uveitis, cutaneous injuries, articulation and neuromuscular incidence. This work aimed at studying Behçet Syndrome, medical treatments,
as well as proposing tools for physiotherapeutic rehabilitation in musculoskeletal and cutaneous alterations. It is a literature survey involving searches in
Lilacs, Pubmed, Medline and Scielo databases. 65 articles were found and 13 articles were selected that presented a review of the syndrome, treatment,
case study and clinical manifestations. Tools for physiotherapeutic rehabilitation such as electro-thermal-phototherapy, therapeutic kinesiotherapy,
mechanotherapy, hand resources , thermaltherapy, cryotherapy and hydrotherapy were proposed for alleviating pain, associated to anti-inflammatory
drugs, healing cutaneous injuries, circulatory effect, edema reduction, increasing and maintaining mobility to articulate, preservation and maintenance
of muscular force and reduction of rigidity, that may affect BS acute and chronic symptoms. The participation of diverse symptoms in Behçet Syndrome
were reported by some authors such as musculoskeletal, cutaneous, mucocutaneous, neurological, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular alterations. Others
have reported drug treatments using corticoids and immunosuppressant drugs. Some papers specified the syndrome physiopathology, diagnosis, present
etiology and data about the different therapeutic interventions. We concluded that, according to the clinical manifestations, drug treatment together
with physiotherapy could produce beneficial effects to patients affected by this syndrome.
