The paper reviews some tests for differential diagnosis of communication and language disorders – verbal, written and sign
language. It also reviews some instruments proved to be effective in the practice of cognitive rehabilitation. It provides information on
the use of those instruments for assessment and intervention for the rehabilitation practice in communication and language disorders
produced by neurosensory deficits such as congenital deafness, neuromotor disorders such as cerebral palsy and amyotrophic lateral
sclerosis, and neurolinguistic disorders such as aphasia and dyslexia.
