Abstract

The search for quality assistance has been discussed and shared with health staff, especially the ones who work in the
management area, since users of health organizations consciousness of their rights has increased in the last decade. More engagement
of these institutions is demanded. In this sense, the creation of indicators is an important tool to evaluate quality assistance. This paper
describes the experience of health professionals in selecting a set of quality indicators related to nursing assistance able to measure
and analyze the assistance and management areas of their health services. The use of these indicators, in different stages, will allow
internal and external comparativeness of the services related to their work process and will give the managers data to support decisions
and evaluations in their organizations.
