The health insurance sector in Brazil has experienced not only an increase in common costs, but also other challenges
such as demographic and epidemiological transitions and the need to rethink its model of health care. Adding value to
health is a way to address them. A provider of health insurance plans in the city of São Paulo, as a first action to implement
a project aimed at health promotion and disease prevention in a client company, conducted a mapping of the company
employees’ health condition by applying a questionnaire on habits and attitudes considered healthy. In addition to the
questionnaire, measurements such as blood pressure, weight and height assessment, among others, in a sample, were
done. This article presents the results concerning the 8853 questionnaires and 291 measurements done. Standing out
among the results, are reduce use of preventive exams, a linkage between stress and work, a high prevalence of musculoskeletal
disorders and stress related to physical inactivity as significant. As this is the first survey of this kind and scope
done by this operator of health plans, many flaws were pointed out; however, the team believes that its objectives were
achieved. The greatest difficulty was the lack of direct relationship of the health plan with its customers, as there is the
intermediation by the organizational structure of the client company. Aligning goals and objectives common to all these
stakeholders is a major challenge.
