This monographic work aims at critically reflect on planetary ethics, showing the responsibility and commitment of the
human species regarding the environment and health. The work shows that concern with social aspects is more and more justified but
must not be the only one but instead be made a part of a bigger context, the socioeconomic one and attend not only to human species
needs but also to those of many life forms for the huge web of life, of which we are part, we are all interdependent and important.
There is a necessary, then, of a broader commitment of human species to a planetary ethics. Or this to take place, it is not necessary that
human conquests be despised as believe many ecologues and ecologists, but it is instead mandatory to encourage a planetary ethics
that aims at the conscientization of several societies on environmental damages resulting caused by anthropic action and uncontrolled
consumption is rethought, questioned and modified, since it is one of the main causes of ecological imbalances in the planet.
