Children development has interaction with the environment as an essential requirement. The quality of this interaction
depends on the capacity of the child to relate with it. This capacity can be harmed for example by a deficiency in the visual system.
Children with visual deficiency tend not to catch surrounding stimuli, or not to know how to react to them, being deprived of some
chances of development. Due to this, they should need help even to play. Considering these aspects, the present work aims to emphasize
the importance of toy adaptation for the promotion of the integral development of children with visual deficiency, especially in cases
of subnormal vision. For the achievement of this aim, we build, based on the study of the problematic faced by children in this special
condition and the importance of the work of Occupational Therapy in adaptation, 2 special toys for children from 2 to 4 years old
having subnormal vision. We can conclude that although there is not a thing such as “toys for children with deficiencies”, sometimes it
is necessary to adapt them to the necessities and to the performance level of the child.
