The Singular Therapeutic Project (PTS), the main tool for interdisciplinary work of the Psycho-social Care Centers (CAPS, acronym
in Portuguese), makes possible some important things, such as: the participation, reinsertion and construction of autonomy by
the user / family in psychological suffering. The main goal was to describe the stages that constituted the construction of a PTS
together with the user / family from a CAPS of Cuiabá city, MT. This study is a report of academic experiences from the Nursing
School of Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso (UFMT). Beginning by analyzing all the information collected, we have listed
the problems, did bibliographical surveys, established goals and interventions. The PTS construction has resulted in the family
sensitization and clarification of doubts related to the user’s psychological suffering. It also helped the development of the care
plan and, consequently, the reinforcement of the connection, once the user and the family were involved in all the processes
which resulted in the construction of the person’s autonomy. We have found the psychiatric medical model, which still exists in
the CAPS works, to be a limitation, as evidenced by the scarce participation, integration and valuation of most of the staff in the
construction of the PTS. We strongly learned through the academics and user / family experiences, by making clear and evident
the mental health care advances that has already been achieved through psycho-social attention.
