Women in the age group of 40 49 years (22.6%), 1 to 3 years of schooling (43%), single women (46.4%) and brown color / race (46.8%) were the ones who died the most; (17.4%), diseases of the circulatory system (17.1%) and neoplasias (15.4%) prevailed as the main reasons for these deaths. The maternal mortality coeffi-cients remained oscillating, varying between 18.05 and 138.07 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births. Underreporting and underreporting have made the real dimension of this problem difficult for the health of women in this region, it is necessary to invest in actions aimed at reducing prevent-able mortality.
